Myler Horse Bit Levels:

LEVEL 1 MYLER HORSE BITS - Myler mouthpiece designs correspond to four different levels based on the horse’s behavior and experience, starting with Level 1 for greener horses and moving up to Level 3 for more advanced work.

Level 1: Myler Bit Action – The horse bit rotates onto the horses tongue to apply tongue pressure and collapses back while preventing the horses lips and bars from being pinched. The bit curves to allow more room for the tongue and then the Myler bit has Independent side movement on most mouthpieces. Some of these bits have a barrel in the center of the bit that allows each side of the bit to move independently. This provides the horse a very clear signal when one rein or the other is lifted for contact. This bits help to finish the horse and assists with shoulder control and lateral flexion. Level one Myler Bits are best suited for young colts or green horses. Level one bits are perfect for horses just beginning training. This horse bit is for horses that may have a challenging disposition or riding in a discipline that restricts bits to a single jointed bit mouthpiece.

LEVEL 2 MYLER HORSE BITS

Level 2: Myler Bit Action - Offers the horse tongue relief through small ports or flexible mouthpiece. This horse bit rotates on the horses tongue for some tongue pressure yet the bit still collapses while preventing the lips and bars from being pinched. The bit had the Myler Independent Side Movement on most Myler mouth pieces. Some of these bits have a barrel in the center of the bit that allows each side of the bit to move independently. This provides the horse a very clear signal when one rein or the other is lifted for contact. The Level 2 Myler Bit is Best Suited for Young or green horses that are just beginning training with a steady disposition. The bit is good for older horses and beginning training for a new discipline or retraining the horse after time off or advancing after training in a Myler Level 1 Horse Bit and horse is beginning to showing bit resistance.

LEVEL 2-3 MYLE HORSE BIT

These Myler Bits are ported and offering more tongue relief than a Level 1 or 2 mouthpiece. Level 2-3 Myler Bits may have correctional mouthpieces which apply some tongue pressure on the horse or bit curb mouthpiece that apply little tongue pressure or more bar contact and top of head poll pressure than the Level 1 or 2 Myler Horse Bits. The curves of the bit allow more room for the horses tongue and this Level 2-3 also has options with and without Independent Side Movement. Some of these bits have a barrel in the center of the bit that allows each side of the bit to move independently. This provides the horse a very clear signal when one rein or the other is lifted for contact. The Level 2-3 is Myler bits are best suited for horses with basic training and with a good disposition and showing self carriage. These horses can handle more tongue relief and have advanced training but still showing a challenging disposition. Riding in a Level 2 mouthpiece and showing bit resistance.

Level 3 MYLER HORSE BIT

These Myler Curb Horse bits have wider ports for maximum tongue relief and little to no tongue pressure. These bits use primarily bar pressure, head poll pressure and curb pressure. The bit mouth curves to allow more room for the horses tongue and these bits also have options with and without Independent Side Movement. Some of these bits have a barrel in the center of the bit that allows each side of the bit to move independently. This provides the horse a very clear signal when one rein or the other is lifted for contact. These Level 3 Myler Horse Bits are suited for the performance horse that has advanced training and a solid disposition under saddle and with the bit.
